Sure the AMAs were hosted back in Oct, but as a friendly fashion reminder, it’s equally important to bring out and highlight black designers everyday, especially when oftentimes we’re overlooked, left feeling overshadowed, and when many of our styles are considered “too-ghetto” for the masses. Well, that is unless a non-black person wears it -- then it’s considered “fashion-forward.”
Stepping on the red carpet, the blackish star wore a pink power suit with black stain strips on each side by Pyer Moss, founded by New York-based Kerby Jean-Raymond. When Ross graced the stage, she made her message loud and clear by wearing a red Shanel Campbell skirt with a “I Am a Voter” T-shirt, designed by the Hollywood-backed, nonpartisan Civic Culture Coalition, styled by Karla Welch.
