Ashanti has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

Tina Douglas, Ashanti's mother, always expected daughter to get a star on the most famous Walk in the world.

Only days after her self-titled first album turned 20, the Grammy-winning singer received the 2,718th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her debut album, which earned a Grammy for best contemporary R&B album, opened at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and R&B album charts in its first week, selling 504,593 copies.

Her debut album set a SoundScan record for most albums sold by a debut female artist, earning her a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records.

On top of that, Ashanti is also an author, and Harper Collins will release Foolish/Unfoolish: Reflections on Love next month.

In a winter white jumpsuit with emerald and diamond bracelets, the 41-year-old singer looked magnificent. Her appearance was complemented by her silky, low ponytail.

Ja Rule, Tichina Arnold, and numerous members of Ashanti's family were present for the occasion. Before giving her her own star, they lavished her with love and gratitude.

Tichina said, "You should be in the Guinness Book of World Records for being such a beautiful human being, a beautiful human being."

This has been a very meaningful time for us. "Getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is the pinnacle," Ja said.

“They didn't believe I could write because I was a tiny girl from Long Island in the studio with all these guys and gangstas. Because they didn't believe I was writing alone, he said they'd have to watch me write,” Ashanti recounted.

Ashanti praised everyone who has helped her career, especially her mother/manager Tina Douglas, as she took the stage. The singer's mother received her Walk of Fame star during her first trip to Los Angeles. She claimed that when she was mixing her debut album, her mother acquired a Hollywood star with her name on it from a souvenir shop on the same block.

Ashanti promised her grieving mother that she'd have one of these someday.

Aww! Shanti became teary as she neared the end of her speech, but took comfort in knowing that her family and friends were proud of her.

After her speech, Ashanti's star was revealed.

The singer of "Always On Time" has had a fantastic week. She became the first Black female artist co-founder of EQ Exchange, a Web3 startup, earlier this week.
