Officially a beauty-babe boss with a brand made for the crown, Tracee Ellis Ross has launched her haircare collection, PATTERN Beauty, for those of us with curly, coily and tightly textured hair.
The black-ish star found it hard to find the exact product that meshed well with enhancing her natural curls, so she made them herself.
Ross, who is the CEO and founder of PATTERN, said on Instagram that the collection “is the result of 20 years of dreaming, 10 years in the making.” In fact, the actress said that she wrote her first brand pitch in 2008, right around the time of wrapping up Girlfriends, dedicating 2 years to working with a chemist.
The line, which includes shampoo, three conditioners, leave-in conditioner, two hair serums, rubber shower brush, hair clips, and microfiber towels to protect curls, is said to help maximize your natural curl pattern.
The award-winning actress states that she is “excited for PATTERN to join the natural hair movement and to celebrate our hair for what it is: beautiful!
With natural hair gaining momentum not only in society but in media, black actors, actresses, and models have spoken up about the lack of trained hairstylists on set that are qualified to work with the versatility of black hair.
Ross knows this very well. With PATTERN, the collection is made with formulas that are “unique and packed with luscious & safe ingredients-trust” and “tried 74 different samples to get these 7 formulas for phase one.”
The products are available now on PatternsBeauty.com and at Ulta stores.
